The Score On: Big Trades in the NFL This Off-season

Published by lakers24 at 5:51 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Jason Taylor and Jeremy Shockey finally get traded to new teams.
Who wins in these trades?
In the Jason Taylor trade, The Redskins got Taylor in exchange for their second round and sixth round picks in the 2010 draft. The Redskins definitely win. They get a player who has more sacks than the rest of the team combined. He has had 11-plus sacks per season in the last 3 seasons. His skill is not diminished since last season. He wasn’t a worse sacker; he just no longer cooperated with the Dolphin’s organization.
In the Jeremy Shockey trade, the Giants gave up Tight End Jeremey Shockey in exchange for the getting the Saints’ second and fifth round picks in the 2009 draft. Giants definitely win. One reason is because the Giants already have a great Tight End player for the future in Kevin Boss. Plus, the Giants get rid of a player who is constantly whining and nagging to the organization (Shockey). The last reason the Giants win is that the Giants get more young prospects in getting the Saints 2nd and 5th round picks in the 2009 draft.
